Recently I’ve become more interested in texture and linework and have been looking at different sources. My eye loves the undulating lines in nature (including the human form), and my interest in calligraphy dates back to high school. The use of line by Klee, Kandinsky and Matisse can make for an interesting transition to urban wall writers from the recent past and those whose work can be seen today. I’ve been bridging from building up a canvas by layering washes to creating a more textured surface, most recently incorporating cold wax medium.  So my set of palette knives, rollers, sponges and cloths for scrubbing are my new friends and together we are exploring.
