I am a huge fan of the work of the late Chris Cornell, both his work with bands and his solo work.  “Burden in My Hand” is a favorite of mine from Soundgarden’s 1996 album “Down on the Upside”. I think it’s pretty much the perfect guitar rock song and one of the best to come out of the ‘90s grunge wave.  My intention with this painting is to capture the tension and complexity of the interplay between the inner shadow and desire for redemption that so often shapes the human experience.
